About Bill

Bill Craig is a graduate of the College of William and Mary and holds advanced degrees from William and Mary and Virginia Commonwealth University.   A native of Cleveland, Ohio,  he recently retired from a 34-year career with public school districts in and around Richmond, Virginia. During those years,  Bill served as a teacher,  instructional specialist, elementary school principal, and assistant superintendent.

 

Along with his school leadership experience, Bill has provided college counseling  services to students through his work with the College Planning Network, volunteer efforts with non-profit organizations College Summit, Generation Hope, and Partnership for the Future, and through his independent  practice, Craig College Counseling LLC.

 

Bill assists students and families with all parts of the college search and application process, including financial aid assistance.   He is committed to maintaining  a deep knowledge of the wide range of higher education options available to students from coast to coast and from north to south. Bill takes great pride in his ability to discover students’ strengths and needs and then guide them  towards schools that will provide the best college fit.

 

Bill is a member of the National Association for College Admissions Counseling, the Potomac and Chesapeake Association for College Admissions Counseling, and  the Higher Education Consultants Association. He and his wife Michele, a CPA and the chief financial officer of a Richmond-based non-profit agency, are the parents of two adult daughters, Cara and Joanna.
